Stocksom Art Prints

I have always painted for I enjoy the creative challenge. Most of my paintings are abstract, and I use dots (rather like pointillism- the artistic movement begun in 1886) for colour and decoration. As a Home Economics teacher, my enjoyment of fibre crafts, embroidery and material, together with clothing design and construction, have been influences on my painting. My love of texture also springs from my 15 years as a hobby potter, working with hand and wheel thrown designs.

With all my paintings I like to vary my style to enhance the subject, and often employ mixed media to achieve the desired effect. I work in acrylic paints, oil paint and often add texture such as threads. I also use photographs of my art, to digitally produce different and unique works of art.

Please enjoy my art, created for you.

Best wishes,

Jan Stockdale.
