J D Benson grew up in Africa, where her parents served as missionaries, but now lives in Montana with her husband and kids. Her passion for art solidified in her high school classes leading her to focus on art in college. She graduated with a BFA in painting and a BA in art education. Throughout her art career, she has enjoyed studying and viewing the work of Impressionists such as Monet and Renoir. Oils have also become her medium of choice since graduation. J D Benson has given private lessons, taught art classes, and completed private commissions. She enjoys painting landscapes/nature, pet/animals, and Scripture illustrations.
