Jessie Dodington is a visual artist working in oil, acrylic, water media and drawing media. She received her Masters of Fine Arts in painting and drawing at Texas Tech University in 2019, and her BFA from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada in 2008.

Dodington is a member of the 806 Collective comprised of artists, writers, filmmakers, composers, comedians, designers, botany and culinary creatives collaborating and exhibiting as part of Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina, California, Texas, Canada and the UK. Dodington has taught as resource faculty in Fine Art at Eastern New Mexico University and has been an assistant teacher as well as a Graduate Part Time Instructor in drawing and painting at Texas Tech University. She recently taught a week-long workshop: “Gouache Painting: Color, Light, Landscape” at Idyllwild Arts Academy and was a participant in the prestigious Land Arts of the American West program with Texas Tech University’s School of Architecture. She exhibited in Texas A&M University-Corpus Cristi’s Oso Bay Biennial on “Reexamining Representational Painting,” in March of 2018. She was an active member of the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico for many years and was admitted as one of 50 painters into their 10 day Plein Air Festival in 2016. She illustrated the textbook, “Biology: An Invertebrate Perspective” by Dr. Ken Cradock and attended the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities 2017 Emerging Creatives Summit in Gainesville, Florida.
