As a water-colorist I must work in the moment. I have to consider each stroke that I make and yet proceed with confidence, knowing that at any moment my work could be ruined. Watercolor demands complete focus due to the use of transparent layers that you can't paint over to hide any mistakes. Watercolor keeps me focused on the true meaning of each painting and urges me to remove everything but the key elements. As a painter I am much more interested in how the subject feels to me, I am certainly not a realistic painter. My primary goal with each painting is to breathe life into what I do.
